Large organisations are required, under SI 426: 2014, to complete an energy audit every 4 years. To support SMEs reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions, SEAI has launched the Support Scheme for Energy Audits (SSEA).  As Registered Energy Auditors for SEAI for many years, Powertherm Solutions is delighted to offer Energy Audits under this scheme.

Support for SMEs

SMEs that have an annual energy spend of over €10k can apply to SEAI for the €2,000 voucher towards the cost of a professional energy audit. This voucher often covers the full cost of the audit. The SEAI application process is straightforward, with automatic approval for eligible businesses. The audit report uses an SEAI template and must comply with SEAI requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

• Energy Spend of at least €10,000 on energy (excluding transport energy costs) per year at the site being audited.
• Tax Compliant
• Registered in Ireland
• Non-Obligated Entities*: Small / Medium Enterprises. In the case of public sector bodies, they must have a useful floor area less than 500m² and spend less than €35,000 per year on energy.

*Definition of non-obligated entities:

Non-obligated entities are organisations that are not required to complete an energy audit under Article 8 of the Energy Efficiency Directive.
