DCU Marconi BER B Deep Retrofit

The DCU Marconi building energy Pathfinder project was completed in 2024. The combination of measures has brought the building, constructed in 1990, up to a B2 energy rating and improved occupant comfort.

The project was funded under the Energy Efficiency and Decarbonisation Pathfinder Programme (EEDPP). The Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) and the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) are co-funding the programme. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and Higher Education Authority (HEA) are administering the programme.

PowerTherm Solutions was design team lead, M&E Design and energy consultants; Andrew P. Nugent & Associates (APNA) were project managers and quantity surveyors; Collins Maher Martin Architects – COMMA; Hanley Pepper Consulting Engineers structural design. Works were undertaken by McKeon Group”
